About Rockbourne Village

The stream through Rockbourne VillageThe village of Rockbourne is situated in a picturesque valley on the western edge of the New Forest National Park in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is one of four villages which comprise the Western Downlands, the others being Damerham, Whitsbury (home to a stud farm and racing stables) and Martin, clustered around the Hampshire/Wiltshire/Dorset borders. A winter bourne parallels the road which runs North-South through the village along which most of the cottages and houses are located, many being Grade II Listed buildings.

The surrounding countryside is farmland, with the cathedral city of Salisbury ten miles to the north east and the town of Fordingbridge on the river Avon four miles to the south east. The village is also home to one half of the Western Downlands School and St Andrew’s Church.

With its excellent facilities, idyllic surroundings, ample availability of holiday lets and B&B’s and the privately owned pub The Rose & Thistle with its popular bar and restaurant, the village of Rockbourne and its lovely Hall together make an ideal centre for corporate away-days and nights for management training, planning and team-building.
