The Rockbourne Village Hall is a superb, well equipped venue which is available for hire and is suitable for a wide range of events. These have included private parties, public meetings, charitable and fundraising events, child-based activities, keep-fit and dance classes, lectures, quiz nights, bridge competitions, wedding and christening receptions and corporate events.
With an excellent pub restaurant, B&B’s and holiday lets in the village and surrounding area it is an ideal place for a corporate planning or team-building retreat.
Constructed in 1885, the Hall underwent a major expansion and upgrade in 2006-7. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere with full facilities for the disabled, including an induction loop to support hearing aids. The Main Hall seats up to 86 or a maximum of 72 when laid out for dining. The Gallery seats a further 24 and the Committee Room 8-10. The modern kitchen is fully equipped and ideal for catering and the Store Room is a useful space for food preparation etc. when the chairs and tables are in use in the main hall. Sophisticated built-in audio-visual equipment, with microphone and computer input points, is available for commercial hiring only.
There is a small car park to the side and rear with parking bays for approximately 10 cars including a disabled bay, with additional parking on adjacent roads.
The Hall is at the heart of the pretty Western Downland village of Rockbourne in Hampshire on the edge of the New Forest, within the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and very close to the county borders of Dorset and Wiltshire.
The cathedral City of Salisbury is 10 miles to the North, the nearest town is Fordingbridge four miles to the Southwest, and south coast resorts including Christchurch, Lymington and Bournemouth are within 45 minutes’ drive to the South.
Rockbourne Village Hall has excellent facilities and is set in idyllic surroundings with ample availability of holiday lets and B&B’s. There is also a privately owned pub The Rose & Thistle with its popular bar and restaurant.
